Georgian Country House Restoration, Bath by Balance Interior Design

The Georgian

Georgian Country House Restoration, Bath

Beginning with spatial planning to optimise light and airflow within the confines of listed building regulations, we embarked on a sympathetic restoration and redecoration of this Grade II-listed Regency Farmhouse, partway between Frome and Bath. Period and modern detailing combine to create a relaxed, homely atmosphere, embracing a wabi-sabi aesthetic that celebrates the quirks of the original building and the joy of handmade and imperfect objects, both found and made in collaboration with local artisans.

The Georgian was awarded ‘Best UK project under 1M’ (2025) by the SBID, and featured in the March edition of Homes & Gardens alongside two coffee table books, ‘Bringing The Outside In’ (Abi Dare) and ‘Country Retreats’ (Beta Publishing).
